Getting ready to teach short-story writing to my students made me really look at what I had in the "not done but I want to finish it" pile. And somehow, I convinced myself last night (along with my husband's constructive criticism and ideas) that I should really send one of my stories in to try to get into the Workshop at Baycon this year. I think I'm going to be busy over the next several weekends...

On a completely unrelated note, my daughter has "kiss radar". If my husband and I start, say, smooching in the kitchen, she somehow notices immediately from the other side of the living room, darts over to us, and demands to be part of the hug. :) It just cracks us up.

Back when my son was a dinky-dude, and he'd see us playing kissy-face, he'd want in on the hug too. We had this little game where we'd play a mock tug o'war with him: "Mine!" "No, Mine!" and then we'd squish him in the middle and say "Ours!" When he got a little older, he'd just say "EEeeww!! Gross!" *grin* The last time he was here with his wife, and we started, he grabbed her, and started too, and both the grandsons went "Eeeew! Gross!" *giggle*
