Wandering downtown...

My hair trimmed and feathered back, daughter's as well (and french-braided by the nice lady, who loves doing things with my child's long, amazing hair)? Check.
2 pairs of tights so I can wear skirts to work in cold weather? Check.
Two for one deal at Macy's sale rack on pretty shirt and vest? Check.
Find a little adjustment gold thingie for my wedding ring which is rather too big at this point? Check.
Kitchen tool? Check.
Pause for getting a fruit non-dairy shake at the health food store to share? Check.
Other kitchen tool we found while we were in the cooking store and decided to get? Check.
A j.jill skirt and shirt at the second-hand store? Check.
The Tasco microscope my husband found there, in its original wood box, with some of the original slides still intact (and it's the one he had as a kid)? Check. And now he and the kidlet are over at the dining room table gleefully checking out the slide of a dragonfly wing.
Not a bad afternoon.
