Thanks to all who reviewed my tale in
marigoldg's Anniversary Challenge at http://talechallenge36.livejournal.com/6718.html#cutid1. Getting home today and blushing/giggling over the
various comments made my day much better. That was the first hobbity fanfic I've completed in a while, and it was a good feeling to do so.
Daughter was up at 2 a.m. this morning with asthma and a nightmare. Yawn. Rehearsal in forty minutes and then I have 19 or so reports to grade. Whimper.
I had a nice but straightforward birthday. Opened silly cards. Went to feed the ducks at the part with my daughter. Spent a few gift certificates (always a good thing) and got some scifi sorts of dvd's and a couple of books (the working script/Joss' notes for Serenity is definitely fun). My tabbed corset arrived, so costume planning and construction can actually start around here. My sweetie made me one of my favorite dinners. :)
Got officially hooked on Torchwood over winter break, thanks to some folks who posted the first few eps on Youtube in pieces. What? I couldn't wait until some American channel that shall remained unnamed just now got a clue. Wow. Okay, so some bits are just plain cheesy and silly, but it's mostly pretty dark and with interesting characters. And John Barrowman as Captain Jack, which pretty much makes it good already. Almost a whole cast of anti-heroes, which reminds me a bit of Firefly occasionally.
Off to sing a bit and plan concerts.
