Jan. 9th, 2007 06:51 pmOkay, I consider myself tagged by
surgicalsteel and
shirebound since I read both of theirs this evening...
Each player of this game starts off with 10 weird things/habits/little known facts about yourself. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 10 weird habits/things/little known facts as well as state this rule clearly.
1. When I was about 10 and my little sister was 7, we invented a "radio show" called, I believe, "Flez and Flauna". (don't ask - I think it was based on snippets of overhearing our grandmother's favorite soap opera). It starred our stuffed animals and we recorded it on our mom's tape recorder. Only two copies exist at this point, which is probably a good thing...
2. I admit it - I used to watch soap operas occasionally when I was in college, and happily match the plot lines to Greek and Roman plays. And, yes, I was a theater/literature double major, why do you ask?
3. I actually studied ballet for 7 years as a child, until I developed a figure and realized what toe shoes did to a person's feet. Ow.
4. I can invent harmonies to almost any melody instantly.
5. When pregnant, I didn't crave pickles or ice cream - I craved fresh berries and apricots. Go figure.
6. When my husband asked me to marry him way back more than ten years ago, my first response, even before "yes!", was "are you sure you know what you're getting into?" :) Apparently, he did...
7. For a while as a kid, I wanted to be an astronaut. Possibly because there is no pollen in space, and therefore no allergies. It made sense at the time, honest.
8. I've sung in around 18 languages, but only speak one fluently, and two semi-fluently. Gotta work on that. (my husband says to add that I can curse in Klingon...)
9. Despite having a grandfather who was a brilliant artist, I have no ability to draw people. As a result, my students get to giggle occasionally about my stick-figure drawings on the board in class.
10. I didn't have a maid of honor at my wedding - my husband and I each had a best man. That sort of confused the rabbi a couple of times, who asked for the "maid of honor to lift the bride's veil...uh...the man of honor?".
