A Weird Moment
Sep. 10th, 2007 05:45 pmOooookay....
Lock-down at school this afternoon, after school got out, and not a drill. No clue what it was for in particular. It's amazing how quickly my reflexes kick in. Scan out the door for kids who need a room to be in, scan for anything odd/weapons visible, etc., lock the door and duck down under the window. With work to grade (such a teacher, I am), no less. Half and hour, and then it was over and I still have no idea what it was. Oh, well.
Rehearsal canceled, so I can stay at home tonight and get rid of the dregs of my first-month-of-school-year cold that some delightful teenager shared with me.
On the positive side, we finished painting the little cube-shaped bookcases my mom gave us for my picture book collection; they're from my playroom from when I was around 3 years old. (we painted them a lovely "herb-garden green" with special low-chemical paint)
