ansothehobbit, my meme beginning with the first letter in my name.
10 things I love that begin with "L"
1. Libraries. I spent much of every childhood summer in our local ones, practically have my own in our house.
2. Local sealife - In my new job, I am not across the street from the ocean anymore. :( I miss watching the seabirds and the seals and sealions, sea otters and whales some mornings.
3. Light - The light around here - I realized years ago that the light at sunset where I grew up doesn't look like the light where I live now. Different tones and shades and all.
4. Ladino (a really old Jewish language that's a mixture of Spanish and Hebrew) - I've learned to sing in it over the past few years. Beautiful sounds and flow to it.
5. Little things - I used to make dollhouse miniatures and am painting my old dollhouse for my daughter to use.
6. Legolas (from the books, although Orlando is lovely as the elf) - one of the first JRRT characters about whom I wrote fanfic
7. "Lord of the Rings" Duh. :) Read it when I was nine or ten, and then off and on again for the rest of my life so far. I re-read these books every year and get something new out of the experience each and every time.
8. Literature - Got my BA degree in it (comparative)...love books enough to have taken literature classes for fun in the summer when I was a kid (why yes, I was a geek child even then)
9. Livejournal - Okay, hokey, I know, but...that's how I met all of you on my friends list and got connected to the rest of the world...
10. Lavender - I have Spanish Lavender growing outside my front door, which miraculously survived the construction project, and when in bloom, it has these little petals at the top of each flower cluster that look like fairy wings, as though the flower will be taking off in flight any moment now. :)
