Feb. 9th, 2008 04:19 pmFun afternoon - my daughter and I wandered about downtown. There was a corner on which there was a table with four people who had old typewriters and who were typing love letters for free! There were giggling teenage girls dictating letters to boys, a couple of college students, and some kid who had never seen a real typewriter before, I think. Daughter got one typed for her daddy, who is currently fighting a nasty upper-respiratory infection, and it was much appreciated. Awwww....
Got copies of "Daniel Deronda" by Eliot and "Mansfield Park" by Austen at a local independent bookstore and a new Phillipa Gregory book at another. When I'll have time to read them, I'm not sure, though.
I was trying to decide what to say about the latest episode of Torchwood, given some of the annoyed reviews I saw that I am sure totally missed the mark, but found what I wanted to say at
