Aug. 12th, 2008 05:58 pmJoy. A massive allergic reaction to unknown something (possibly cross-contamination of food, either from store or at restaurant, either of which means I'm getting more sensitive, darn it) since about 9 pm last night. Up at least three times before dawn, so all in all, about nine hours of stomach pain, exhaustion, and my school year starts tomorrow!!!!
So I got my classroom ready with my daughter's help as best I could between bouts of pain and running to the bathroom, and tried not to look too miserable so she wouldn't be worried. Still have to plan for tomorrow, through an antihistamine haze. At least most of the reaction seems to be over, but I've got a lot of sore muscles and joints. Should make tomorrow loads of fun. Sigh. The room looks pretty good, though.
Actually, tomorrow will be hectic, but it's the first day of school, after all. Too many kids in the classes for at least a week or two while the district has to get proof that we've the number we say we have. And then and only then will they hire more teachers. No logic whatsoever.
