Fires and Timelords and things...
Aug. 24th, 2009 07:49 pmThe damn smoke is still drifting in clouds down to where I teach. I'd swear it's being selective...so the congestion and wheezing from my cold is taking a long time to go away. It's been helpfully pointed out to me that what's burning are a lot of things that cause me allergies anyway, so who knows what the smoke is doing. I may bring a HEPA filter to my classroom tomorrow. Perhaps I'll sound like less of a frog and be able to go to rehearsal.
We watched the first David Tennant episode of Doctor Who yesterday, much to my daughter's delight. She likes his hair. :) And the trainers.
I think I finally have my classes sorted, 25 and 24 kids apiece, which is way better than last year. Maybe that'll last?
I was zoning while watching Merlin on NBC. Seen it a couple of times and thought it was pretty cool, 'specially with Giles...er, Anthony Head in it. ;) I was, however, completely thrown for a loop at a camera shot that make that young man playing Merlin look exactly like I think a 16 year old Peter Wingfield must have looked (Methos in Highlander, in case you didn't know). Exactly. Weird...same adorable and all angles and cheekbones and depth of eyes. Huh.
Because it was quick, I made herbed potatoes with the rosemary-infused olive oil. That oil was a good experiment. Must do it again...make a note...
