The queen of stalling...and the joys of 12 year olds...

My daughter is currently stalling while doing her math homework.
"Mama, what is this part of the foot called?"
"Mama, I have to sing while I work 'cause the person I sat with in art wouldn't let me sing today."
"An ant just went across my paper, so I'm moving over here to work."
"Can I show you a dance move?"
"What's karma?"
"Mama, I just saw a lizard run under the table outside!"

She'll get it done eventually...

Well, improvement. I only interrupted my teaching by coughing once today. Slowly improving, anyway.
I got back to school this morning to discover that the sub who had my class yesterday described my first block
class group as "well-behaved, responsible, and mature", and the third block group as "not knowing
the meaning of good behavior and completely rude." ACK. The variety one gets in seventh graders
this year. Well, that group can owe me most of their lunchtime while they make up the work. And I got
two new students today...

I so do not envy you the life as a teacher. I've dipped my toes into that pool and the sharks almost got me, lol. It's not for me, but I'm in awe of anyone making a life as one. :)
