School essays and skateboard surprises and hair...

So I changed hair salons for the first time 15 years. Yikes, but I was nervous. Got a recommendation
from my sister and tried a new place and they fixed the problem the old one had ended up making (not on purpose, but I complicated hair). Maybe my husband will take a pic tomorrow and I'll post it, but I'm really happy, and the very nice hairdresser showed me how to glam it up a bit by curling it a little with a round brush and a hairdryer. She didn't even bat an eye at a customer like me who has to bring her own shampoo for sensitive skin and all that.

And for utter weirdness, on a day when I was actually limping on one leg, I won a drawing for a skateboard at a local health food store!!!!!! *blinks in bewilderment* I shall be donating it for a drawing at my school's skate club, as I would never have a reason to be on a professional level skate board! 'Sides, it'll be fun to see the kid's face when he or she wins it right before the holidays. :)

I watched and listened as my daughter wrote a first draft of her first real essay for school. Mama is so proud...

Well thats a cool thing, wining that skateboard and then giving it to the school club as a prize! Yay also for getting a good hairdresser. My hairdresser shows me how to glam myself up too...in fact she tells me to come back if I need a pointer...not that I wear fancy hair but that I am so clueless!

Well, I certainly can't use a skateboard (not that adults can't - there are two teachers who skate and surf who run the club!), so I figure someone else can enjoy it.

I don't do fancy hair either, but the first of the three concerts I'm in this winter is going to be filmed for local television and broadcast, so I thought I'd better look less casual.
