One of those days for shaking my head in incredulity a lot. Student of mine, who is now suspended and seeing a counselor, responded to being told that he shouldn't be disrespectful to another teacher by looking at me and saying, "What, did I stutter?" *sigh* Had two cases of "she/he did/said something to me so that's why I hit/kicked him/her". Seventh graders?!

Got home and turned on CNN and had this response to what I witnessed...

Anderson Cooper, dear, don't even bother trying to challenge that bigot by actually quoting the actual Bible to her and reminding her the Holocaust happened. She's already decided that lots of history didn't happen, that hatred does not actually beget violence, and that anyone not like her is evil (especially those Liberals who are "harping" on that electric fence/murder idea for gays and lesbians mentioned by her pastor). But thanks for trying...at least we got to see the hatred: loud, clear, and in color. I just have to think about and remember all the amazing people I know and have met who are open-minded and loving and kind. Otherwise I won't sleep.
