A 3-day weekend? Wow. First order of business = not setting alarms for several mornings. What a nice concept! :) Today at 3 is the time when the public library booksale closes the doors to all but teachers and non-profits and we go and get things for free. This is how I will give out books to all the kids at school who meet their reading goals. One of my favorite times of year! We went to the members-only night part of the sale yesterday, and got far too many books, but lots of things for our daughter to read over the summer. We joke about it, because anything we don't want to keep from these little jaunts often gets donated right back for the next sale!

*shakes head in affectionate non-surprise* My daughter was having trouble with pre-algebra, which was pretty much expected, given how she learns and what her strengths and weaknesses are in school. So we pointed out that at her school, she can repeat it and get extra help with it, and no one will care or mind. As soon as the pressure of passing RIGHT NOW was off her, she started getting A's on the tests. Sigh. Amazing what the brain and emotions can do when mixed.

What an utterly marvelous event.

Not as much left this year, as they've changed the schedule for _after_ the $5 a bag sale bit. But enough to help.

What sort of school is she in? I wish someone could have found a way to help me with math when I was in school.

Her school is "for gifted students with learning differences". My husband teaches there and so we get tuition covered, otherwise I am not sure what we would have been able to find for her. We count ourselves incredibly lucky.
