songspinnerI SO needed this weekend. The kids are starting to mentally leave on their summer break a week before it actually begins (anticipated after 15+ years of teaching, but still...), allergies are ridiculous, and a murder that happened on a corner I pass all the time turned out to be a family member of one of my students. At least there's been an arrest of suspects as of today. So an intense few days all around.
On the bright side, today was fun. Husband and daughter and I went to a rummage sale to support a program that traps, spays/neuters feral cats, and finds them homes, and then to a giant block yard sale downtown. While we were there (and found good stuff), we ran into friends who were working a fundraiser sale and funfair to raise money for Doctors Without Borders. Since we love both our friends and that particular cause, I let my daughter stay and help/play with the kids she knew who were running some of the games for a couple of hours.
