Halloween Goodnesses:
Oct. 31st, 2007 05:26 pm1. Finished my Roman garb last night (yes, around 11 pm with help from busily sewing husband) and wore
it to teach today. The kids were mostly impressed and most recognized when I was supposed to be from from the last history unit. Whew. Pictures to be posted by this weekend...
2. Managed to get a hair extension for the costume that perfectly matched my hair, which was nice. And none of the several hundred bobby pins (I think I'm kidding) came out during the day.
3. Got to teach a lesson on the origins of Halloween that tied into the history unit I teach, and it included much about Samhain and the Celts. Because many didn't believe I sing, I sang an Celtic song that has a ghost in it before they went off to lunch. :)
3. Darling daughter loved her wand, and makes a fetching Hermione, complete with naturally frizzy hair (gets that from her mama).
And now, off to trick-or-treat with a bunch of 7 and 8 year olds. Eeeek.
