Jun. 28th, 2008 10:25 pmA belated birthday to
marigoldg - would have posted this on time, but our internet connection went down for some reason and we just got it back today. Many happy returns of the day!
Things break in threes around here (how very trad folksong-like!) - internet connection, dishwasher, and by default the coffee machine as the pot was inside the dishwasher when the door got jammed. Husband kindly got me some coffee at the corner bakery this morning...
The gopher that has been ravaging my front garden was, er, dealt with permanently this afternoon. I was standing there talking to our neighbor and heard this crunching/nibbling sound and watched one of my not-yet-blooming gladiolas topple to the ground. So m husband stuck a hose into one end of the burrow, turned it on and waited. The little rodent came dashing out of one of the other entrances, was grabbed, and captured. It was taken care of humanely. I may have a garden left after all this summer, although I have some empty spaces in it to fill now.
