metamorphosis, oh my...
Nov. 9th, 2008 09:36 amDaughter just went off to Hebrew school with a monarch butterfly chrysalis ready to open. It should open sometime this morning, and she didn't want to miss it, so I hope her teacher won't mind. :)
They go dark and transparent suddenly when about to open, and you can see the wings and color and everything inside, which is really cool.
Update: the silly thing waited until midafternoon and popped out to dry its wings in the wind...it's waiting this morning for the sun to warm it up, and sitting on my lavendar plant to sip nectar while it waits...
I have a four-day weekend, which is unusual, and filled with rehearsals, housecleaning, and grading papers. So not an actual break, just from teaching. Maybe my voice will come back with lots of extra sleep and rest. (tired of sounding like a frog - at least my low and middle ranges are back for singing, mostly)
