Daughter's piano recital was fun - she did three duets with her teacher. Unexpected, but I think that's actually more difficult to do than solos, really. Two songs from "Fiddler on the Roof" and one older song. Such a variety from the rest of the students this year - the "Star Wars" theme, Chopin, and a song by Coldplay (just the piano part), and a duet of "chopsticks" that went all full of improvisation.

Got most of the rest of the garden plants at the huge college agricultural sale, and to continue my theater/literature geekiness, I got a salvia from Verona, Italy (for the Shakespeare play) and a variety of snapdragon called "Dulcinea's Heart" (for the character from "Don Quixote").

Ended up watching "Ace of Cakes" on the Food Network last night, as it turned out they were going to Hawaii to do a cake for the cast and crew of "Lost"! Very cool and silly, and the footage of the actors all playing with the little fondant versions of themselves was fun, as was the bit with Josh Holloway pretending to drink the fake Dharma beer and then biting into it.

Okay, that was cool...went to a yard sale and saw boxes and boxes of kids books. Turns out that the person holding the sale works at the school at which I used to work, was handed the leftovers from a book exchange/trade to get rid of, and was in fact trying to get rid of them from her garage. So two file boxes overflowing with kids' chapter books for $5! A special deal for teachers, she said. Nice. Now I'll have enough to give away for summer reading at the end of the school year so each of my students can have a free book.

Also wandered the antique fair and found some old beads for working with this summer. My husband only got distracted by antique cameras twice... :)
