Nov. 4th, 2006 06:32 pmAh, LJ's back.
Daughter has figured out how to play the harmonica (and I mean actual tunes, not cacophony) and no one's sure how. She just did. Ye gods, it's another one in the family. Sigh. Also, she's playing piano with both hands suddenly, so maybe there was a sudden burst of Music in the vicinity?
Someone I missed tons for the past six months in my vocal group came back and said she was "positively called" to rejoin us this week. There was much squealing and hugging and kissing. Who or whatever in this strange universe convinced her...thanks. Feels right again.
The sore throat I had for five days has finally begun to heal. Not strep, apparently, thank goodness, although I've had students with it this month. Just (is this TMI?) basically canker sores gone berserk (apthous ulcers, I think they're called), which has made singing at rehearsals sort of interesting. Fortunately, I sing alto or tenor most of the time. Sheesh - I get this every now and again, but not this bad since college.
Darling daughter and I saw a lamp at Pottery Barn four months ago and I didn't get it since it cost an arm and a leg. So we got an inexpensive lamp somewhere and made paper butterflies to perch on the lampshade. After much hotgluing this morning, it now looks lovely glowing in her room.
