Apr. 14th, 2007 09:39 amIt's raining. Sort of a grey and tired day.
Well we waited long enough!
Ahem. So, SG1. Darryl the Dragon was kinda silly looking, but okay.
Ba'al and Sam going back and forth was wonderful, and that punch of hers to
his head was perfectly timed (I kept wanting to do that myself). And a shut-up
spell? Heh.
Percival, Galahad, Mordred, and Guenivere, hmmm? And that would make Teal'c and Vala...
Oh, I'll just stop that now.
Teal'c - So much fun NOT saying anything in this ep. That bit with Cameron and
the explosives where Teal'c just grabs his arm and refuses to let go? He used
silence to great effect more than once.
Ah, Daniel. True to form. Never a question in his head of whether he'd do it.
Oddly enough, since it was almost overdramatic, that little moment between
Cameron and Vala ("Congratulations, now you really are one of us") was
simultaneously one of the best pieces of scriptwriting and also acting I've seen
on this show in years. Tears in her eyes and him fighting his back and
the Truth of his statement. Summed up one of the main reasons I still watch the show.
Damn. I knew it would be a cliffhanger, but sheesh.
SGA
I have this overwhelming urge to thank and smack the writers at the same time.
Rewind?!!!!!! We're smart enough to figure it out without cute effects, truly.
Give us some credit.
Good continuity - Niam, Rodney getting panicked as the jumper goes down and gets leaks.
Jack - we've missed you. ("Plan F as in...")
Teyla - not much to say, but nice guns, girl. :) And Carson's "Thank you, dear." in response
to her blowing the replicators to smithereens two-handed was priceless.
Carson - oh, the chair...that's why they brought him
Back to the John and Rodney show when those two are under stress. Banter, bicker, head slap...
Drama geek jokes.
They ended it there? For crying out loud...we didn't want to see Elizabeth and Jack -
we wanted to see the team's reactions to being allowed to stay. After all that?
We needed John's reaction - he risked everything to go back and we don't get to see his
face when he's told he can stay? Rodney's? Ronon's? I wanted to see their faces light up.
Teyla would have missed everyone and everything, but would have done fine as her people's leader.
The other three? John called it home in part one of this episode, and he really meant that.
As an audience, we needed to see them truly come home. And somehow I wanted to overhear Rodney
tell Radek they were going back. Sigh - off to write fanfics, then.
