Well, today was definitely looking up. Still giddy about the writers' workshop at Baycon, my daughter and I picked a whole bag of fava beans from the school's organic garden (there's a maze of them, literally laid out on the ground, and now kids and families are encouraged to harvest before they mow it down), and I while applying for literally 20 different jobs this week, I got a call twenty minutes ago for the first interview. Cool.

I think I'll let my husband figure out how to cook the fava beans - I haven't the slightest idea how to do that.
They look good, though.

Anyone else around here going to Baycon? I've never been. Actually, I haven't been to a scifi/fantasy convention since um...graduate school. (hangs head, but points to the reason *little girl* singing to herself in the backyard)
