Ow. Windstorm + high pollen count = me with swollen eyes and no sense of balance whatsoever. Antihistamines and HEPA filtered rooms are good. I think I'll stay inside for the rest of the evening.

On the less painful side of my day, I got the materials for a little duo of jewelry making projects - one for mom, one for mom-in-law. I got a sweet little Roman-era spindle whorl and a Celtic Roman-era horse bridle ring on eBay and I'm setting them as pendants for gifts. As I am still learning to do wire settings, this will take me a bit to do, but it should be fun. I'll post pictures once they're getting somewhere close to done...

Free comic book day was cool. Wandered by the local big comic book store and ran into a lot of kids from the school where I teach, which of course they found immensely amusing. :) Well, there's this new Supernatural comic thing out and I had to at least peek...

Well, oddly enough, I didn't start reading or collecting comics until graduate school. I was student teaching at the time and kept running into my high school students at the comic book store, which they thought was totally weird. :) Only X-men comics, though, usually, and I've pared my collection down by half in the last few years.
