songspinnerSome fun today - my daughter and I did some Irish ceili dancing for the school talent show today. No huge missteps, a couple of giggles, and lots of cheers and applause. And proof that I did it, as one of my students used my video camera for me while I was onstage. I even borrowed someone's proper Irish ghillie shoes.
A parent and her son gave me a beautiful thank you present a day early (school year ends tomorrow): a handmade (by the parent) scarf woven from silk ribbons that was just stunning. Presents like that mean a lot to a teacher, even more than gift certificates. Although, those are nice too if they're to a bookstore, for instance. :) Sometimes my students know if far too well...
Tomorrow's gonna be really hard, though. Last day of a job I loved for three years despite the stresses. I'm there for one or two more days doing report cards and finishing the packing up of the room and my stuff, however. A lot of parents of my former students have caught me this week to thank me as well, which was nice, and to be sure that I'm okay. Some truly good people.
Off to prepare for tomorrow, then. Maybe even sleep.
