Nov. 4th, 2007 08:20 amMany good things about this episode:
- Rodney and Katie (My husband and I both sort of whimpered "noooo" when we thought she'd died and then signed in relief when she didn't.) And that last moment when she whispered his name? The look on his face was marvelous. And all those moment when he overcame his phobias of the infirmary and sick people to be with her.
- I've been waiting for the writers to grab that particular plot bunny: the idea that when two populations meet, childhood diseases can be deadly to one group and harmless to another (yes, I teach history, so plot bunnies like that tend to pop into my head). 'Bout time they did that, and I thought it was well done.
- I loved the idea that their personalities stayed firm, even without memories - an interesting theory. Sam and Rodney's were particularly strong.
- John's plan was a good one and I'm glad it worked at the last minute. Lorne and the other Marines are going to have a hell of a time coming down off the stims, though. Ow.
- Radek - Yea! Did he have military training in his home country or did Ronon or Teyla train him?
- Ronon... "Never gets old". Hee... I loved his scene with John, the total reverse of the first episode he was in. And his stubborn assertion that the emotional connection of family wouldn't go away no matter what happened made me rather teary-eyed.
- Goodness, but Teyla was awesome in this one! Talking Rodney through everything, kicking butt when she needed to. The writers are using her so much more this season. I loved the bit with her helping him with the math, and I totally giggled when he recited the equation with pi like that (my music group was just asked to set that to music for a mathematics conference - no, really!)
