worries, organized musical chaos...
Nov. 12th, 2007 02:05 pmMy best friend/big sister's husband is in hospital for a massive infection that's apparently been going on for possibly several years. It explains a lot of his fatigue and pain for the past year, and being a typical guy, he waited until he was pretty much bleeding internally before letting someone take him to the ER. So we're waiting to hear if he'll need surgery or if the antibiotics will work within 48 hours. It was good to hear her voice on the phone and know that she was as okay as she can be right now, and that he's finally sleeping. I'll probably drop by tomorrow, as the hospital is five minutes from where I work.
As I put my music together for tonight's rehearsal, I realize that there really are three straight weekends of performances coming up in December. Eeeek. And for one of those gigs, I am singing soprano, alto, and tenor during one concert. (shakes head in amused resignation at choir director who has said I am officially "tri-sectional" - and yes, that did degenerate into a whole slew of bad jokes for a few minutes)

It's an choir where we sing in Irish Gaelic, and it's funny how even the jokes in Irish between the director and the two other native speakers make sense to me, even if it's just getting the body language and tone. (I can sing in it, but only know some words...)
