(no subject)
Oct. 31st, 2008 10:56 amHappy Halloween or Samhain to everyone doing something for either today. :)
The Irish language/culture/music group I am part of is having a ceili (dance) tomorrow night, and I am currently home with a nasty cold of some sort, so I am resting enough to be able to go and drum in the band at least. No dancing though. Tired. I think making chicken soup this afternoon will help things. I am missing a teacher work day (no regular school) - or rather, not missing the boring meeting but I do wish I had some collaboration time with other teachers this afternoon. *sniffle, wheeze*
West Wing eps were on tv this morning, which made my groggy morning somewhat nicer.
My daughter's costume didn't get finished due to her mama feeling like crud, so Ren-Faire costuming came in handy, but I made the character's silver moon necklace and she approved with a grin as she put it on. She's going as Eilonwy from Lloyd Alexander's Prydain Chronicles. An older girl she knows gave her a plastic Dyrnwyn sword complete with the writing on the scabbard ("Draw Dyrnwyn only thou of noble blood") and everything, but she can't bring that to school - maybe it it's not raining, there will be a little trick-or-treating...or not. (listens to thunder)
