Birthday party for the now 9 year old (?!?!?!?) went well...well did my kid get to be 9? Yikes. There was bowling and giggling and cake that everyone could eat (including the birthday girl and her friend who both have food allergies) and a 6 year old sibling beating her big brother in the second game. :) Two siblings of her friends came because they adore her and wanted to help her celebrate. Awww... Daughter is still excited about the transparent/anatomy model of a horse her paternal grandparents gave her (the boys at the party went "ewwww...cool") to build with her dad's help. And her aunt sent a special edition copy of "The Secret Garden".

How drunk would someone have to be to attack a guy as huge as Jason Momoa? And how stupid? I hope that Jason is going to be okay and that he doesn't have nerve damage to his face or eyes. Sheesh. And I hope we get to see him in the SGA movie.

And a small rant about this week's SGA...

So is the only way that Rodney can have a relationship with a woman is if she wants to change who he is? This is annoying me to no end. She spent the entire episode either lecturing him or telling him that he needed to be someone different, literally. How is this healthy? I felt like yelling at him to run away and leave her there, except he's also such a hero character. I thought, however, that he would have taken that ax to the door for anyone on his team, truly. Keller, I just wanted to smack. Having Nye and Tyson there was cool, but if John or Teyla or Ronon had been there, they wouldn't have let her get away with basically telling their friend that he was a bad person.

If Rodney was a friend of mine, I'd consider telling him to leave someone that controlling and abusive. The writers can't seriously think I'm respecting them right now. Okay, I'm done grumping. But they'd better make up for this mess in the last couple of episodes.

I saw the new SGA episode as well (I've been following season 5 after Daniel arrived, and sadly, left). I don't like Keller. She's a wuss. And Rodney is sometimes so extremely annoying that I have to brace myself to not hig the screen in irritation. Poor Jason Momoa. I like Ronon. He's cute.

There's going to be a SGA movie? I didn't know. But then, I don't pay attention to the SGA gossip at all.

According to one of the producer's blogs, Jason's doing well and cheerful and recovering and looking forward to "coming to Vancouver soon and kicking some alien ass." :)

I am not sure if Keller wants to change him or that Rodney himself wants to find a way to fit in more himself. This started already before Keller got into the picture last season when his first engagement failed (with that biologist). Knowing Rodney as a character, he just wouldn't go with it for just love or pleasing a girl. Old habits die hard hehe. I think Keller served a good purpose in this eo, being the outsider and holding up a mirror to those scientists, but to me, the way she is written is that she loves him just the way he is. :) I actually liked the episode a lot.

And happy birthday wee one, soon you will become a teen, just amazing!

ack
